*Easy Apple Sauce

Image
Have you ever bought too many apples? I know I have! When they start to go soft, don't toss them out! Sprinkle some cinnamon (and coconut sugar if you have a sweet tooth), steam and purée. Great for sugar substitutes in recipes, quick apple sauce snack, add granola and nuts for a crumble, or place in ice cube trays and freeze for baby! Yield: As much as you like! You will need: -Cinnamon -Coconut sugar -As many apples as you'd like Directions: 1. Peel and core all the apples 2. Place the apples in a pot with a splash of water (about a half an inch high in the pot). You can use a steamer as well 3. Sprinkle with cinnamon and coconut sugar 4. Simmer on low with the pot covered until they are very soft 5. Remove apples from the pot and allow to cool (use any liquid leftover in pot in your smoothie!) 6. Blend the apples in a high speed blender and store in air tight container in the fridge or freezer until ready to use
